India has entered a world leader in manufacturing spam

India became the first in the list of source countries in the world of spam in the first quarter of this year, according to Sophos, which is engaged in information security.

Among all spam messages sent from India was 9.3% in the first quarter of 2012, while in the U.S. - just 8.3% of letters, according to the company. Earlier, the U.S. was the leader by volume of spam transmitted - in the same period of 2011 to U.S. spam emails had 13.7%, while the share of India's second place was 7.1%.

Third place in the ranking is South Korea (5.7%), and fourth place were Indonesia and Russia (5% each). In general, the developer of security software identified 12 countries with the largest amount of spam, accounting for about 60% of the total volume of unwanted messages.

According to experts, the volume of spam in the world compared to the previous year has decreased, because fraudsters are increasingly working on social networks because of the inefficiency of conventional mailings.

At the same time the number of emails containing malicious software or attempts to find out from users their personal data has increased.

Recall, recently reported that 13 countries have suffered from a virus that is blocking your computer on behalf of the police. Later it became known that over 300 thousand users worldwide may lose access to the Internet.
